Newfoundland music is often a favourite at any wedding held around Corner Brook.  There’s always a tune or two to get the toes tapping and the people on the floor regardless of teh age.

Some of the older Newfoundland music such as Eddie Coffey’s – Grey Foggy Day and Simani’s – A Rose in Her Hair will get the older couples up, scuffing around the floor but you can liven the place up with a foot stompin’ jig from Bugg’s Green – Barney’s Reel.

Favourite Newfoundland Music

Since TheDJs.ca have been DJing (over 10 years), there have been very few venues and events around Corner Brook, Newfoundland where someone hasn’t stopped up and asked for a Newfoundland song.  Newfoundland music is popular throughout the area and and any good DJ should have some of the fan favourites in their playlist ready to go at a moments notice.

When there’s a mixed group of people attending an event, playing Eddie Coffey’s “Grey Foggy Day” is sure to pack the floor with the older couples.  You will even see some of the younger ones on the floor, enjoying this Newfoundland two-step that has a playing time of just over five minutes.

For those DJing with a younger crowd, you can never fail with Great Big Sea’s “The Night Paddy Murphy Died”, The Fables “Heave Away” or Ray Lake’s “There’s Gonna Be a Time Tonight”.  These up-beat songs are sure to get all ages on the floor and are proven crowd pleasers that any DJ should have.

It is also important that a professional DJ have a great Newfoundland jig at their ready.  One of the favourites around Corner Brook is Buggs Greene’s “Barney’s Reel”.  It has never failed TheDJs.ca as one to get the toes tapping and the people moving.

Corner Brook’s Most Popular Waltz?

As a professional DJ service in the Corner Brook, Newfoundland area, your success depends on knowing which songs appeal to different crowds.  Finding that perfect balance is always difficult, especially if the event has a variety of age groups in attendance.

Like any good DJ there are certain songs you know will pack the dance floor regardless of the age group.  Some of the classics such as Bob Seger’s “Old Time Rock and Roll” and The Black Eyed Peas “I Gotta Feeling” appeal to the masses and will get the blood pumping regardless of the age group in attendance.  These songs will get you on the floor and moving.
